HELICOPTER DESIGN:
− Fuselage design (CATIA V5 Generative Shape design)
− Preliminary ergonomics design for the cabin (CATIA V5 Human Activity Analysis)
− Basic layout of control system, and rotor (CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly Design, DMU Kinematics)
− Main composite load-bearing structure design for the fuselage (CATIA V5 Generative Shape design)
− Optimizing the shape of the fuselage in cooperation with Fluid Mechanics Department of Budapest University of Technology and Economics with Computational Fluid Dynamics method (Fluent).
− Optimizing the cooling air inlet with CFD method.
− Calculations and investigations for load-bearing framework with various methods (simple calculations, Finite Element Analysis) (CATIA V5 Advanced Meshing Tools, Generative Structural Analysis; ANSYS R10)
− Preliminary and detailed design of a twin engine drive train system in teamwork. My main part was engineering the frame structures, controlling the whole design and checking the calculations.
− Modeling and analyzing the torsional vibration of the drive train system, working out possible damping solutions. I used Matlab Simulink for creating numerical model of the system.
− Design of a test bench for investigating the drive train system
− Drafting the part and assembly drawings (CATIA V5 Drafting)

OTHER ORGANIZATIONAL TASKS:

Main activities, responsibilities

ENGINEERING AND ANALYZING AIRCRAFT PARTS AND STRUCTURES:
− Structural design and calculations of nose gear. I engineered all the parts of the gear leg. I used CATIA V5 (Part Design, Generative Structural Analysis) for modeling and for the Finite Element Analysis. I worked out a design process for engineering similar nose gears using excessively the tools offered by CATIA for parametric design (This was my Master Thesis).
− Structural design and calculations of main gear (CATIA V5 Part Design)
− Structural design of gear bays and bay-doors, actuator systems of bay-doors (CATIA V5 Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Assembly Design, DMU Kinematics)
− Engineering of cabin doors (CATIA V5 Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Assembly design, DMU Kinematics)
− Improvement of the load-bearing structures of a composite wing to a more effective and easier construction. (CATIA V5 Part Design)
− Aileron (flaperon) control system design, calculations, and controlling of production. (CATIA V5 Part design, Assembly Design, DMU Kinematics, Generative Structural Analysis)
− Load calculations on flaps and on its fixing parts (CATIA V5, ANSYS)
− Structural design and calculations of engine mounts for various engine alternatives (CATIA V5, ANSYS)
− Analysis and load tests of the composite horizontal stabilizer. (CATIA V5 Part Design, ANSYS) I had opportunity to compare the calculations with test results.
− Engineering of Plexiglas fixation to a pressurized cabin (CATIA V5)

AIRCRAFT DESIGN:
− Design of an amphibious two seater according to LSA and VLA category (basic construction, aerodynamic and stability calculations, cabin ergonomics, engine positioning, control systems).
− Design of a two seater high speed UL aircraft (basic construction, aerodynamic and stability calculations, engine positioning)

OTHER DESIGN:  
− Design and calculations for a composite building element for hangars (CATIA V5, ANSYS)

COMPOSITE PARTS MANUFACTURING:
− Laminating composite parts in CNC milled moulds with vacuum
